Summary on one page of what you have (hopefully) read on the website and what is agreed upon by you and us through submission:
1) Who we are
The Swiss Spirits Review understands itself as a „critical“ (fair and honest) review of your product, organized by Arthur Nägele, Langenhagstrasse 40, 9424 Rheineck, Switzerland. Registered in the commercial register of the Canton of St. Gallen under UID CHE-111.784.317.
2) Eligible products
All spirits, fortified and aromatized wines, as well as non-alcoholic spirit alternatives according to our entry categories are eligible for the Swiss Spirits Review.
Products must be submitted market-ready and ready for sale. Production samples can be submitted after prior consultation. Only products of agricultural origin according to EU regulations are permitted.
3) Regarding participation
- Submitted products comply with the respective national labeling and production regulations
- For each submitted product we require 2 bottles with a minimum content of 50 cl
- Only samples taxed in Switzerland or customs-cleared for Switzerland will be accepted at the Swiss address
- International products must be shipped to the specified EU address in Austria
- The organizer reserves the right to charge the submitter for taxes, customs duties or other charges invoiced for submitted products, plus processing fees
- A registration form must be completed truthfully for each submitted product
- The organizer may exclude submitters from participation without stating reasons. There is no legal entitlement to participation
4) Entry fees
Regular spirits:
- Basic Package: CHF 85.00 per product (5-for-4 promotion available)
- Upgrade to Professional Package: +CHF 60.00
- Upgrade to Feedback Package: +CHF 170.00
Additional services:
- Tasting with filler beverages: CHF 30.00 per product
- Medal stickers (Gold/Silver/Bronze): Price on request
All prices are in Swiss Francs (CHF). The exact composition of the packages can be found under „Cost of Service„.
5) The Jury
The Swiss Spirits Review evaluates your products according to international standards through blind tastings conducted by a team of qualified tasters:
- Spirits & Edelbrand Sommeliers
- Members of the Verkosterkreis Tasting Circle
- International experts
All products are tasted blind, i.e., anonymized. All tasters work according to uniform protocols and are regularly calibrated.
6) Awards & Evaluation Scale
You will receive a score on the 100-point scale for your submitted product, as well as a certificate of participation in PDF format showing the product, submitter, and score.
Products achieving 80 points or higher receive a digital badge in the artwork of the Swiss Spirits Review for further promotion. This badge reflects the score and the year of participation.
Medal classification:
- GOLD: 95–100 points
- SILVER: 90–94 points
- BRONZE: 85–89 points
Classic medal stickers in gold, silver, and bronze can be ordered from the organizer for a fee.
7) Publication & Presentation
Homepage publication:
Results from 85 points onwards are published on the Swiss Spirits Review homepage.
Tastings & Events:
Award-winning products may be presented to an interested trade audience at tastings and events during the year. Product selection is based on thematic fit with the respective event as well as the client’s preferences. There is no legal entitlement to presentation at tastings or events.
Media publication:
The category results are featured in DRINKS Magazine Switzerland. The editorial selection of products to be presented is at the sole discretion of the DRINKS Magazine editorial team. There is no legal entitlement to publication in print media.
8) Final provisions
By registering the samples, the submitter acknowledges the terms and conditions and evaluation of the Swiss Spirits Review.
For registrations with late arrival of samples, there is no right to claim a refund of the entry fee. The organizer reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions at any time. The conditions valid at the time of submission are binding.
Disclaimer:
The organizer assumes no liability for:
- Loss, damage, or late delivery of submitted samples
- Technical problems with the publication of results
- Indirect damages or lost profits in connection with participation
Evaluations are conducted to the best of our knowledge and belief by qualified tasters. No guarantee can be given for specific scores or awards.
9) Jurisdiction & applicable law
The place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from or in connection with these terms and conditions is St. Gallen, Switzerland. Swiss law applies.
10) Data protection
Data collected during registration is used exclusively for the execution of the Swiss Spirits Review and is not shared with third parties.
